Parrot was conceived as the virtual machine behind Perl 6. Now its scope is much broader: Perl 6, Perl 5, Python, Lisp, Forth, Basic, and beyond.
In this talk, Chip Salzenberg, the newly named Chief Designer for Parrot, will present an overview of Parrot's present and future. The present of Parrot is its architecture and its current feature set. The future of Parrot is its planned feature set and the impact it could have on the software world.
